Currency Note US Dollar

US Dollar holds steady

By Ricky Bean July 7th, 2015

The US dollar has continued to take advantage of the Greek crisis in the Eurozone, seeing further strength against the euro, as well as the majority of its peers. Less impressive non-manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) data showed continued growth, but these were just below estimates.

With few data releases of note scheduled for today, the focus will remain on Greece and the Eurozone, with the US dollar expected to make further gain on the increasing expectations that Greece could leave the Eurozone. Trade Balance figures and the JOLTS job openings report are both expected to show slight declines on the previous month.
